Some of the bluest of the blue chips are reporting earnings this week, so be prepared for more whiplash. The markets posted impressive gains last week, especially when you consider all the reasons to expect the opposite. Still, the name of the game is earnings and good news from industry leaders will help confidence, while many more reports like the disappointing results posted by G.E., will send averages even lower.
