How's this for a niche?
* A typical profit-per-sale is in the
tens of thousands of dollars.
* It's an "evergreen" market - not likely
to go away, of even change significantly,
in the next 10,000 years
* Competition exists, but for the most
part it's pretty clueless.
"Wow!" I can almost hear you say.
"Is such a business even possible?"
Sure it is.
It's called...
Real Estate.
Some people think the real estate market is
in a lot of trouble...and they're right...
if you are playing last year's game.
Folks who understand the natural - if painful -
cycles of the real estate market are doing
just fine. In fact, better than ever...
That's why we're going to have a special
workshop panel of experts at System 2008
on opportunities for Internet marketers
in today's real estate market.
In fact, we'll be giving away a free tele-seminar
on this subject to everyone who is subscribed
to the Pre-System Tele-Seminar series.
Cost to subscribe? Zero.
If you've already subscribed, great! You'll
be getting this fascinating interview next week.
If not...well you may have missed the boat.
System 2008 is coming on fast...May 30, May 31
and June 1 and we've already sold out our entire
room block at the hotel.
There are still places available, but dawdlers
may find themselves disappointed.
If you want to take care of your registration
now, you can do that here:

*** The Internet and real estate
My "big" business before Internet marketing
was providing marketing education and services
to the real estate finance industry.
This was long before today's recently passed
boom in real estate lending.
Mortage brokering was a sleeping little
sideline in those days. Most loans were
made through banks and independent mortgage
brokers were rare.
The state-of-the-art in marketing for that
niche was bringing a box of donuts to the
local real state office and dropping off
your business cards (which can still work
by the way - if you do it every week!)
Anyway, we taught mortgage brokers how to
get more aggressive with their marketing.
We showed them how to search public records
and find home owners most likely to be responsive
to re-finance offers.
Then we introduced them to good direct
marketing practices which in those days
meant direct mail. This was pre-Internet.
Folks in that business who "got" what we
were talking about made mountains of money
and through the process of building that
business I learned a ton about the realities
of real estate.
Now the question you might be asking yourself
is did I stay in that niche?
My answer may shock you.
Even though I had a good, solid business that
made great money, I dropped it.
Why?
I didn't like the market.
Not that there's anything wrong with it. It
just didn't ring my bell.
So I pursued other things that I had a real
passion for and I can tell you that I now
net over ten times more each year than my
best year in real estate finance.
The reason I'm telling you this story
is to make a point...
There is no such thing as a "perfect niche."
There are businesses that make sense.
Then there is the niche that's perfect for YOU.
What's perfect for you and what's perfect for
me and what's perfect for the guy next door
may be three totally different things, but
we can all make great money and enjoy ourselves
in the process.
Hey, work is work and it has it's less than
fun aspects, but overall, if you're not
ENJOYING yourself in your business - whatever
it is - you're in the wrong niche.
I don't care how good it looks on paper.
If you're interested in learning more - a lot
more - about how to find the niche that's
right for you, I strongly recommend you go
