I was watching a video of my student and colleague
Lloyd Irvin presenting at last year's System Seminar.
Lloyd's a world champion in Brazilian jujitsu, the
owner of a successful chain of martial arts schools,
a very successful publisher of martial arts training
materials, and a razor sharp Internet marketer and
real estate investor.
By any standard, he makes a lot of money, especially
for a guy who as recently as 2003 had not yet made dollar
one in either publishing or the Internet.
At the end of his talk, someone asked him about his
day.
Here's what he said...
"I get up. I write for an hour and then..."
This may seem simple and obvious, maybe
even stupidly so, but let me rerun the tape
anyway...
Question: "Lloyd. What's a typical day like for you?"
Lloyd's answer: "I get up. I write for an hour and then..."
In those ten simple words, Lloyd summed up success in
the info marketing business in particular, and any business
in general.
If you're in the info marketing business, your stock in
trade is words. Period. End of story.
Info marketing businesses "float on a sea of copy."
Stop writing and the business stops.
So for Lloyd, the most important thing he can do
every day is get the writing done.
You may be in another business that has a single
"must do" imperative. The Big "It."
Here's why getting "it" done first thing in the morning
is so important:
Reason #1. Your mind is probably freshest. The day hasn't started
hammering on you yet and you're probably closest to
your unconscious mind, the source of many of your best
ideas.
Reason #2. Making "it" (whatever "it" is for you) insures that
if you get out of bed that day, "it" gets done. Every day. And
success is about doing what needs to be done every day, not
just when you're in the mood.
Reason #3. If you don't do "it" first thing in the morning and
get involved in other stuff, here's what invariably happens..
Somewhere in the back of your mind the intelligent part of
you that wants you to succeed starts getting antsy.
You *know* you're supposed to get "it" done, but you're not
so a nagging little voice full of dread and worry starts pulling
you down. "Shouldn't you be....(fill in the blank.)?"
There's an easy to way to silence that voice and dramatically
reduce - if not eliminate - the stress for your life.
...There's an easy to way to make sure that you're intelligently
productive every day.
...There's an easy way to take an idea and turn it into a
profitable reality.
You work on it every day, first thing in the morning, and that's
why the title of this e-mail is "First things first."

P.S. Tomorrow is the DEADLINE for the payment plan option
for System 2009.
System 2009 is very early this year. March 27 - 29 instead of
the usual late May so everything is accelerated.
If you want to join the world's greatest Internet marketers
at a real-world, no hype, zero pitching gathering where
everyone is welcome and treated like an equal....
Here's where you take care of that:
