In Part One of this Pre-System lesson
I reveal the 'secret weapon' behind
100% of all big Internet marketing
success stories...
Plus I share my personal short list of
the five marketing books I could not
have built my business without.
In Part Two, I recommend a powerful
new resource for Internet marketers.
======================================
Reader
So far in the Pre-System training,
you've learned:
* Why you should put market research
first before you even dream of starting
a business (Lesson One)
* How to use simple Internet tools
to find and assess the profit potential
of hot markets (Lesson Two)
* How to create products that you can
count on people wanting to buy from you
(Lesson Three)
We've covered a lot of ground in
a short period of time.
If you haven't had a chance
to listen to all the calls that
accompany these Lessons, do
make the time.
I guarantee the energy you put into
listening and learning from them
will pay you back many, many times
over.
Today's theme is simple...
*** The power of books
I don't know a single successful
person in our field who is not
a serious reader.
I'm not talking about eBooks,
or super-expensive home study
courses.
I'm talking about inexpensive...
...readily available...
bursting-at-the-seams-with-value
books.
Very often - VERY often - the
right $9.95 book will pack more -
far more - immediately practical
information in it than home
study courses and coaching programs
costing many thousands of dollars.
You have a choice.
You can mortgage the farm to pay for
super-expensive trainings or you
can use the secret back door route
the gurus use and get and read
great marketing books.
Here's my short list of must-have
books I simply could not live
without...
*** My top five picks
If you want to accelerate your business
success by an almost crazy speed, you
must get...read...and absorb these
five books:
1. "Tested Advertising Methods" (Fourth Edition
or earlier ONLY) - by John Caples
This is the book that guided David Ogilvy
in the creation of one of the most successful
advertising agencies of all time.
It help you will cut through all the myths about
copywriting and make you a master in short time.
2. "How I Raised Myself from a Failure to
Success through Selling" - by Frank Bettger
Marty Edelston of Bottom Line gives this book
away to friends and colleagues by the case.
Gary Bencivenga, the most successful direct
response copywriter of the last 30 years,
calls it one of his "secret weapons."
3. "My Life in Advertising" by Claude Hopkins.
Hopkins' other book "Scientific Advertising"
is good. "My Life" is great. They often come
bundled together. In it, Hopkins reveals the
thinking and strategy behind his amazing
success.
4. "How to Write a Good Advertisement" by
Victor Schwab
This book will put you into the mindset
you need to write truly killer copy.
5. "The Secrets of Direct Mail" by Dick Benson
Benson was the quarterback behind many of the
biggest direct marketing success stories of
all time...and I'm talking about multi-BILLION
dollar enterprises. Thank goodness he wrote
a book. It's priceless.
*** Where are the Internet books?
Direct marketing as a field is well
over 125 years old.
Internet marketing is only 15.
Do the math. It takes time for great
books to emerge.
However, if I were to pick ONE BOOK that
stands alone as a potential classic
in the field of Internet marketing,
it would be a new book by System grad
Howie Jacobson.
Don't be fooled by the title.
The publisher wanted a "plain
vanilla" title and focused it
on one narrow aspect of Howie's
book.
It really should be called:
"The Master Course in Internet
Marketing:
How to Use Cutting-Edge Traffic
and Conversion Strategies to
Build a Profitable Business You
Can Be Proud Of"
I feel so strongly about this
book and that you should have
it that I'm going to offer you
an ethical bribe to get it
so you can see for yourself how
powerful it is:

Ken
P.S. Dan Hollings, the Internet marketing
genius behind "The Secret" was so
blown away by this book he personally
called Howie up after he read it to
tell him what an amazing contribution
to our field it is.
I agree.
I feel sorry for the people who don't
have it. It's that good.
