I received a letter the other day from a salesperson at a local car dealership. I've bought cars from the dealer for years, but this letter made me think twice - it was full of typos and grammatical errors. I pointed it out to the sales manager and told him if I wasn't a loyal customer, I wouldn't think about buying a car from them.

It reminded me of the person who wrote to me about a response she received from a Vice President regarding a resume. She said, "Several days later I got back a letter that was grammatically incorrect and unprofessional." She wasn't sure that she wanted to work for the company after reading it.
