October 15th is the last deadline for submitting your 2007 tax return. Here's some tips to help you finish up your return.

Pick a Software Program
If you haven't started working on your return yet, then the best place to start is with a tax software program. There's even free software available. You might want to opt for the desktop version of the software instead of Web-based versions, as Web software will go offline after October 15th.

Fund a SEP-IRA
Do you run your own business? And are you looking for extra deductions? Contributing to a SEP-IRA is the only tax strategy that I know of that you can implement after April 15th. But you'll need to decide quickly, as the last day to fund a SEP for the previous year is October 15th.

 
Use the Right Tax Form
If you prepare your tax return by hand, you'll save some time by picking the shortest tax form for your financial situation.
