The Department of Justice is calling it the biggest security breach in history. Eleven people have been charged with stealing more than 41 million credit card numbers by hacking into computer systems of retailers.

Most of the thieves were from other countries, but one of the American suspects was a U.S. Secret Service informant. I wonder how that works, telling on other people while simultaneously pulling the biggest identity heist ever.

The thieves mostly used the credit card information to make fraudulent charges and ATM withdrawals. Some the thieves have been arrested while others are still at large.
